What's new bookwise in 2010

"I will be at the fantastic Wisconsin Book Fair September 29 - October 3. The whole hip town of Madison (my alma mater) turns into a cultural paradise for the fair, one of the largest and best in the country. Two presentations:
about Mary Lou Williams, who is being honored for her centennial at the Fair, and another on my novel "Gringa in a Strange Land." The theme this year is "Beliefs." And believe me, Mary Lou Williams' amazing spiritual/musical journey and Erica Mason of "Gringa" have a lot to tell about coming through the dark night of the soul. I'm psyched.

April 2010: A terrific radio program celebrating the life of the super-talented Mary Lou Williams has just appeared on: wduz.org This Musical City: Mary Lou Williams. I was interviewed in connection with it and got quite a lift from comments about my book "Morning Glory" about MLW - and I got in a good plugfor "Gringa in a Strange Land." Check this out if you like jazz.
